Born: 16 June 1993 JORDAN ALDERTON I was brought up on a cattle and game ranch until 2000, when the government acquired the land. I live with my parents and sister on Humani Ranch, in the Save Valley Conservancy, where my parents work. I started school as a boarder at Murray MacDougal Primary School in Triangle. I did well in sports and made all the 1st teams, as well as being Swimming Captain, Prefect and winning the Fellowship Award. I then went to Peterhouse. I swam in 1st Team and have swum in both junior and senior Nationals. Academics are not my strong point. I prefer sports, outdoor activities and practical work. At the end of 2009, I went to Chifuti Safaris on a one week course, which I enjoyed. Also in grade 6 at Murray MacDougal, I went on a one week “bush trip” to Malilangwe. I enjoy being outdoors, motor-cross, hunting and riding. I have been on a lot of hunts. I have also videoed an elephant bow hunt and have been on a leopard hunt, where I handled the specialized dogs.
I went to school at Christ's College for 4 years then switched to Christchurch Boys High to follow my passion for the outdoors. I play hockey and tennis competitively as well as cross country and trail running but I am also very passionate about my rock climbing, skiing, tramping and kayaking.
Academically I'm interested in geography and classical studies but the outdoors will always continue to be my passion.
I was born in Harare and attended Hellenic Junior School, where I was a team swimmer, played cricket and made Mashonaland rugby.
I then went to St George’s College, where I will be writing O levels at the end of this year. My sports at school are rugby, water polo and team swimming. My hobbies are motocross, fishing, spear fishing and hunting.
I enjoy the outdoors and am looking forward to attending Quest.
For the first 10 years, I grew up on a farm outside Marondera, with my mother – Helen, father – Martin and brother Michael. I am the youngest in the family; my brother is two years older than me.
We were evicted in the year 2002. I was in my final year at Ruzawi school. We moved into a house in Harare. I have lived there ever since.
Sports:
I can play most sports, but enjoy golf, squash, tennis and swimming. I used to do triathlon at Ruzawi and for three years at Peterhouse, but gave it up after a bike accident. I was in the school team for swimming and golf. Tennis and squash are additional extras.
Hobbies: I have played a role in the School play, resulting in half school colours. I enjoy playing Bridge and have played first Couple. I enjoy sailing and have been to a few sailing schools and I have learned to sail an optimisit and a dabchick sailing boats. I also enjoy riding motor bikes casually around home and farms.
I live in Harare and attended both St John’s prep school and St John’s College. At the present moment I am writing my Cambridge A-levels. I passed 6 O-levels and 5 AS-levels.
Sport is not my forte, although I was involved in the management side of the 1st 15 and 7 aside rugby teams. I did play rugby from time to time when it was required of me, or when the college was short of players. Not really my passion.
I enjoy spending time with my friends. My hobbies are reading and playing games on X box and computer.
I started off my schooling in Marondera, Zimbabwe, where I went to Lendy Park Jnr from Grades 2 - 4. My family then moved to Brazil in 2003, where my Dad grew tobacco and I went to a Portuguese school for a year then moved back to Zimbabwe in 2004. I started Home Schooling till we left for South Africa in 2007 and went into Victory Academy. I finally finished off Home Schooling with my Mom. Hobbies: I love fishing and playing golf, hunting and wildlife I enjoy my gym and sports too and music and art. I have worked in at least 3 restaurants in SA and I have worked as a manager of a Club house where I oversaw everything. Then I started my own clothing brand last year, which is called EYE byte and I have been working at a gym as a personal trainer and diet consultant. Sporting wise I have represented Zimbabwe in motocross and played golf at junior level. I have represented South Africa in swimming, hockey, cricket and athletics. I have my Natal colours for rugby and have just finished a season playing premier division 1st team and 1st team U20’s for the Ballito Dolphins
I started my primary school education at Borrowdale Primary, then went to Heritage and finished at Saint John’s Prep.
I played hockey, rugby and cricket. I did my secondary schooling in the ACE system, starting at Philadelphia Learning Academy and finishing at The Study Center. I have completed level one and am soon to complete level two.
At the end of 2011, I am writing my S.A.T.’s.
I played hockey for one of the ACE teams and represented ACE Zimbabwe in shot-put and discus at the All Africa Student Convention.
I enjoy fishing and am in the process of refurbishing an old car.
I was educated at Borrowdale school for grade 3 – 4 and moved to Hartmann House for Grade 5 and 6. In Grade 7, I was lucky enough to get a place at Saint John’s College
I did my secondary school at Saint John’s College, where I wrote my O AS and I am currently doing my A Levels.
I enjoy sport and have played the following at school: cricket, hockey, rugby, swimming and athletics. I have played first team cricket for the past two years.

I was born in Bulawayo and lived in Gweru on a dairy farm for the first ten years of life. My family then moved to Bulawayo due to the farm invasions. I went to a variety of different junior and high schools. My favourite was Whitestone School and I am currently finishing up my studies at Morning Star Christian Academy in January 2012. I participated in all kinds of sporting activities such as swimming, rugby, hockey and cricket. I enjoy being outside and being active. Some of my favourite activities are paintball, pellet gun shooting, basic carpentry, model building, running, gym and fitness training. I am very keen on joining the army at some point and so I have been trying to build up my strength and fitness levels. The move to Bulawayo gave me the opportunity to join the Southern Equestrian Centre and I have won a number of certificates for show jumping against other riding schools in Bulawayo and country wide.
I am looking forward to the Quest Programme and hope that it will prepare me for my future and the outside world. I also consider it as a stepping stone towards joining the British Army.

I have enjoyed playing cricket and rugby for school. Made the 1st cricket team and was selected for the Marist all Australian team as wicket keeper, also played 1st XV rugby. Club rugby and cricket played out of school.
Interests: most things outdoors, fly fishing, motor-x, snow boarding, conservation. I also enjoyed all the physical challenges in my outdoor education subjects at school, eg. abseiling, hiking, sailing, snorkeling, etc.

I went to Gateway Junior School, where I was a prefect. I was a keen BMX rider and also did triathlon until I started high school.
My senior years of schooling were done at St Georges College in Harare, where I played cricket, rugby and was in the swimming team.
My interests include golf, fishing and photography and I would like to pursue a career in wildlife safaris/photography. Wildlife and the bush being a passion of mine.

My name is Matt, I was born in April 1993 and have lived in Johannesburg, South Africa my whole life. I attended primary school at The Ridge School, and high school at St Alban’s College as a boarder, in Pretoria.
At school I was deputy head of my boarding house, and a college prefect. Due to my competitive nature, I’m decent at most sports, and enjoy road cycling and running, but mostly waterpolo. I try to be practical, and I am a friendly chap, with a good foundation of morals and values.
I am eager to learn more, try out new things and push the boundaries. I am into watching sport and movies, listening to music, going out with mates, fishing, and spending time with family. I look forward to Quest in 2012, hoping to gain some valuable experience, knowledge and humility.
I was born in Harare in 1992 and went to school at Heritage and later Harare International School.
When I was fourteen I moved to the US, and graduated in June from The Lab School of Washington, DC.
I've always loved the outdoors as well as theater. I had my first taste of mountain biking on Domboshawa outside of Harare, and eventually completed a ride of over 300 miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Washington.
I've also been involved with many theater productions from Shakespeare to musicals, on stage, or behind the stage - stage management or building sets.
I love to bike, ski, hike, canoe and kayak and recently learned to sail as well. I also love humor of any kind! I really look forward to getting back to southern Africa and everything Quest has to offer.
I was born in Harare and have very fond memories of my childhood. Although I was mainly educated in South Africa, I feel a strong affinity for the country of my birth. I would like to explore the bush and meet other Zimbabweans.
I am a very keen athlete, so the wide range of sports and physical training on offer at Quest greatly appeals to me. I am very much an outdoor person with a strong interest in environmental issues. While I am a team player, I am also content to spend time on my own.
I am hoping that Quest Africa will enlarge my perspective on life and basic skills. I think I will enjoy vehicle rebuilds and gaining more knowledge on electrics, construction, etc.
Ultimately, I would like to study a BCom/Sports Management Degree in 2013. I foresee the business projects that I will partake in at Falcon College will assist me with my future career.

I went to Peterhouse School and like nearly all forms of sport. I play for 1st team hockey and cricket and represented Zimbabwe for hockey and bass fishing. I live on a farm in Mvurwi and enjoy the outdoors, fishing, hunting and being in the bush.

I was born in 1992 in Karoi Hospital and went to Karoi Junior School, where I was a class prefect in my last year of junior school.
I went to do my high school as a boarder at Nyatsime College in Harare.
I was involved in sports, such as volley ball and rugby. I love the outdoor life and enjoy cycling, cooking, music and watching movies as my hobbies.
I have been active in fundraising for my society, for the less privileged, through my father’s encouragement, who happens to be the President of Lions Club, Karoi Charter.
I have two brothers, the first is doing his apprenticeship in motor mechanics and the last one is doing Form 2 at Conway College, Harare.
I am 18 and living in Australia with my parents and two sisters.

We then moved north to Bundaberg where I am about to finish year 12.

I was born in Marondera and have lived there all my life. I was educated at Springvale House where I was a weekly boarder and then Peterhouse School. I am currently writing A levels there. I represented my school at first team level for rugby, and enjoy a variety of other sports, such as golf, hockey and cross country running.

I then moved to Zambia in 2003, attending a rural International School in Chipata till July 2006. Moved to Lilongwe Malawi, attended Bishop MacKenzie International School, completed my IGCSE’s and finished my schooling and graduated the IB2 certificate in May 2011. Primary achievements: Cricketer of the year at Groblersdal Primary school. High School achievements: IGCSE and IB diploma’s, Olympic fitness test awards. I represented my school in various sports first teams: Football, Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball and Athletics. I also played for Lilongwe rugby club for a year 1st men’s team.
