Sparking and Snapping By Chelsea Garizio It was such a great start to the week as we learned the basics of electrics and got to learn lots of useful DIY tips. Benji (our teacher) even introduced us to the ‘bouncing’ lightbulb. In the afternoons we made birdbaths so could practice our cement mixing skills but could add a bit of artistic flair too. The last few days of the week we had photography with Mr van Rooyen. This was really good fun and we learned so much about picture composition, lighting, speed etc. We went all over Quiet Waters practising our new found skills in the perfect environment. We also had our 2nd QFT which was very rewarding as we had all improved our times and repetitions considerably. We are certainly feeling and looking fitter than when we arrived. On Friday the group of ex-Questors arrived to help out with the St John’s group and we had a very good evening, cooking a poitjie dinner and enjoying a bit of socialising. Now it’s off to West Nicholson to go mining!
